DDFC, established in 1980 as the Design Development Fabrication Company, has grown into a trailblazer in heavy engineering and innovative industrial solutions. Initially focused on stainless steel equipment such as hygienic vessels and custom fabrications for the process industry, the company rebranded in the 1990s to DDFC for simplicity and expanded its capabilities to include carbon steel products like fired boilers, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.

DDFC has been at the forefront of pioneering initiatives in Pakistan, addressing environmental and energy challenges. Around the same time, it introduced Waste Heat Recovery Boilers, offering industries energy-efficient solutions to reduce operational costs.
